Comentario (inglés)“We would stay there again for sure” - Trafalga23 - Salt Lake City, UT

We picked this hotel because of the good reviews here on tripadvisor. We also really liked that it was less than 4 blocks away from the bus station. (10 PESO round trip per person to Iguazu Park!) We trusted it would be a good stay, and it was.
This was our first trip to Iguazú. We stayed 2 nights in room 208. We decided the Sheraton was out of our budget so we internet-searched for places around town. This was a great choice with great quality/price balance and I would recommend it to anyone.
I contacted the hotel directly to make the reservation, and they arranged for us to be picked up at the IGR airport for 60 pesos. I recommend doing that--having someone waiting for you when you get to the airport. The trip back to the airport was the same price.
There\'s a girl (can\'t remember her name, sorry!) who works at the hotel who speaks excellent English, so if you don\'t speak Spanish, don\'t worry.
We arrived at around 10am, and luckily they had a room ready for us even though check-in time is in the afternoon. No extra charge. (When I made the reservation, they had told me that they would hold our bags for us if there wasn\'t a room ready for us yet, and that way we could still go to the falls that day.)
I had read a review from someone here on tripadvisor that said the air conditioner was too loud. Our air conditioner was just fine, didn\'t make any bad noise (although it sometimes seemed like the room was either a little too hot or a little too cold--with a little more effort we probably could have found the sweet spot). Overall we slept very well.
Food: We asked if the tap water was okay to drink, and they said that it\'s supposed to be fine, but, just in case, maybe we should drink bottled water. There\'s a convenience store about a block and a half up the street that had lots of refrigerated 2-liter bottles, so we drank lots of those during our stay.
The hotel has a restaurant. It was worth trying but if you want cheaper food, find something in town. Breakfast was complimentary, and it was fine. We\'re not too picky about things like that.
We did not have any bug problems in the room, which is great, because I don\'t like bugs. There was about a 1-centimeter gap between the floor and the front door, which made me worried there might be bugs in our room, but we didn\'t see/find any so that\'s good. In fact, I only saw one spider during our whole trip in Iguazú, and that was inside the park. Still, I\'d definitely recommend bringing some OFF or something like that to spray on the floor by the door, just in case. That\'s what we did.
We felt safe at the hotel. The only entrance from the street that we could see is through the lobby. There was always someone at the desk 24/7.
If I liked the place so much, why did I give it 4/5 stars? The only thing I wish could have been different was that there wasn\'t a safe in the room. Maybe they have one at the desk, I forgot to ask. Also, the light bulbs could have been brighter. And I don\'t know what was wrong with their credit card machines. They notified me a couple weeks before our arrival that they wouldn\'t be able to accept credit cards. I don\'t remember why. There\'s an ATM about 4 blocks away.
We didn\'t get a chance to try the pool, but we really wanted to. The whole place is just really nice-looking.
Plenty of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, water, TV, clean bed, closet space. At worst, you\'ll think you\'re in a cabin-style bed-and-breakfast. At best, you\'ll have a very nice hotel to stay in for your Iguazu trip. If you\'re like us, you\'re not looking for a resort anyway--just a nice, safe, comfortable place to sleep between visits to the falls.
In my opinion, you\'re in good hands at this hotel.
